info In addition to the known benefits of an intermediate ring, we have added the possibility of an oil cooler connection. Not only a simple port, but a thermostatically regulated system. This means that the oil will circulate internally, just like a stock engine, up to a temperature of 80 degrees centigrade. For higher temperatures, the oil flow is led through an oil cooler. This regulation is important, as many bikes with aftermarket oil coolers have the problem of not getting engine to operating temperature for a long time, as oil cooler is permanently engaged.
Models 1100 sport i.e./V11 had this as standard from factory. Now almost all Tonti models can be retrofitted with such a system, all that is needed  is an oil cooler and hoses. Shortly, we will offer an appropriate oil cooler kit for Tonti models.
Makes sense for all stressed engines, be it sidecar engines, tuned engines, or simply engines operated in hot environment. Hot oil causes loss of power and favours wear. Moto Guzzi had good reasons for implemeting such a system in the mentioned models !
Cooler conection is made with metric M14x1,5 threads, you need to cut some fins of your front cover to acommodate connections and hoses.

Easy oil filter access.
For models with the shallow sump, this sump extention brings even more benefits. It enlarges the air volume capacity in the engine housing. Moto Guzzi used sump-extensions on stock bikes from LM-3/Cali-2/T5 onwards for these reasons.
As our design is made from a solid aluminium block including the pressure line to the rear, there is no danger of pressure losses due to leakages caused by pipes or hoses. The cross section of this line was increased by 20% to ensure oil flow and to avoid losses. Further, the filter does not stand out at rear as with other designs, thus not (or hardly) collide with interference pipe of some exhaust systems. The screw fitting in the sump is reused, the plug needed to close the remaining thread in the sump is provided.

There is also a version with a temperature sensor included. This sensor provides true temperature values, as it is not placed in the usual place sump where tempratures are low. It is placed directly in the oil flow right by the filter. For Motogadget and other systems, mounted with M 10x1 thread.

CNC quality made in Germany, weighing only 1,9 Kg.
Screws must be longer, if there was no extension mounted before, they can be ordered with this extension. You can choose between galvanized and stainless screws. Sump gaskets can also be supplied.

! If there was no sump extension mounted in the past, you also need a longer dipstick
Later models with large crossovers have to change to simple interference pipes.

HMB-TIP
We are often asked if there was a benefit from using more oil with the extended sump. The answer is no ! There is hardly any benefit from more oil, while the advantage of larger air capacity in the sump would be reduced to nought.
