The small valve heads are basically well suited for 36 mm carbs. Because the 30 mm carbs have a 30mm outlet, while the ports are 33,5mm in diameter. So it is fairly easy to widen the port to 36mm to suit the PHF-36 carburators. We machine the heads to accept a special insert, conical at the inner diameter. This is not only a big advantage for torque and emissions, it is also reversible by simply changing the insert. Our HMB-Roadster had this done in 1999, no need to change anything until today ! Preferably in combination with our ready to ride carb setup, of course even better with one of our valve drive kits. |
