Side stand complete with mounting plate, bolts and springs. Variant with folding aid.


An HMB development. This 2nd generation of the side stand is now available in 3 surface finishes, untreated aluminium, polished or glass bead blasted. Supplied with a longer screw for the retaining plate.

What has changed compared to the first series:


The mounting plate sits 12 mm lower so that critical exhaust systems (e.g. Mistral) do not collide.
For the same reason, the boom has also been made slimmer.
The bolted base foot is now secured with a special toothed disc.
The adjustment ranges of the stops have been extended.

For models with 18 Inch wheels such as:

V7-Sport, 750-S, 750-S3, 850-T.850 T3, T4, LM-1, LM-2, LM-3, LM-1000, 1000S, 1000-SP, V 1000-G5, Convert, Mille GT, SP-3.

Many "non-California" models have the side stand mounted on the front of the frame. This is not ideal, because on the one hand the weight distribution does not fit at all, and on the other hand the side stand often hits the downpipe.
Moto Guzzi recognised this at the time, and from the LM-1000/Mille GT model onwards, a modified side stand was fitted further back on the gearbox/frame mounts. Unfortunately this is no longer available. There are probably approaches that only provide the retaining plate with the old extension arm. However, this does not work because the old (front) boom is too long.

We have developed a sidestand that meets these problems.
Completely made in Germany from rustproof materials, with a double spring system that is not visible from the outside. This provides safety in the (unlikely) event that a spring breaks.
The boom is made of high-strength aluminium, much lighter than the old steel boom but at least as strong. The weight of the complete stand is 750 grams only !
We were also able to eliminate an  old annoyance of the original improved design, as the folded boom often slammed  into the muffler (depending on the exhaust system).
The resting position is adjustable here, so there are no more quirks in the tailpipe, no matter which one is mounted.
The position of the folded-out stand is also adjustable, so every Guzzi should stand optimally.

 

info Variant with folding aid. Here the side stand can be folded out without "fiddling". The additional arm is guided upwards under the tailpipe so that the stand can also be operated before getting off the bike. It is designed to be rotatable and can be adjusted as required.

 

info A shorter version for the models with 16 inch wheels such as T5, LM-1000 1st series and SP-2 is also available. Please ask us for Details.

 

info The long gearbox bolt can remain stock, you just have to remove the washers to create some space. Although this is tight, it was not handled differently at the factory for the LM-1000 and Mille GT models at the time.
Alternatively, our engine and gearbox bolt set can be used.
