The problem: In sidecar operation, lateral forces occur that cause the oil in the oil pan to slosh to the side. This means that no oil can be sucked in by the pump, which only sucks in air, letting the engine run dry for while.
Taking into account that sidecar engines work a lot harder, this is not a good idea.
Running dry can be prevented with this simple measure. This baffle plate is mounted between the engine block and the oil pan (or intermediate ring), the oil can no longer slosh to the side unhindered when cornering.


An additional oil pan gasket is needed for this.

As the baffle-plate is only 1mm thick, there is no Need for longer screws.
