And of course all our manufactory and other custom Guzzi engines

We have developed a test bench that allows us to test and adjust our engines before installation or delivery. This avoids having to dismantle and re-install the engine if, contrary to expectations, something goes wrong. This is rare, but it provides security for all concerned. This is especially true for oil leaks, which can occur for a variety of reasons. These can then be remedied quickly and easily, as the engine is not yet installed in the Guzzi. Experience Shows, that the vast majority of anomalies become apparent during the first hours of operation.
Two powerful blowers ensure proper cooling, as would be the case when the bike is being ridden. Realistic conditions, in other words. This enables us to supply a dry, tested and adjusted engine ready for installation.Optionally, we can also check your clutch and gearbox for noise and shiftability on this test bench. This option is only available in combination with an engine run.

All components from our own production are also put through their paces with a test engine on this test bench, as would hardly be possible in driving operation.

Using the example of an overhauled engine, we can:

- Check for oil leaks
- Measure/monitor the oil pressure
- Measure/monitor the oil temperature
- Adjust/synchronize the carburettors, if provided
- Adjust the ignition, if provided, icluding correct curve if electronic ignition is used
- Check generator and regulator function, if provided
- Check the function of clutch and gearbox (optional)
- Retighten the cylinder head stud bolts after testbench run

A test run takes about 2 hours. We use this time to adjust the carburettor and ignition correctly. The engine oil and the oil filter are changed after the test run. This removes the first abrasion from the engine and the normal change intervals apply.
Due to the relatively long test run, the seals have also settled, so we can retighten the cylinder heads and make the final valve Adjustments once engine has cooled down again.
In short: The engine is delivered to you fully tested and adjusted. (if it is not installed to the bike by us)
You only have to install it and drive ! Of course, this does not replace the recommended running-in time of approx. 1000 km, but the essential points are done. The first period of a new or overhauled engine is the most critical, because there is a lot of friction coupled with poor heat dissipation. Piston rings, for example, can only dissipate heat to the cylinder walls when they are in full contact with the surface. This is the case when run in time is completed.
But other new components such as camshafts, cam followers, crankshaft bearings, etc. also need a running-in period in order to function perfectly in the long term. Therefore, a cautious gas hand is required during the running-in phase ! But as I said, the worst is over after the test bench run. If you then start driving with a maximum of half throttle and gradually increase that, then that's perfectly fine.

What we cannot do:

Perform a power measurement. For the reasons mentioned above, it would be irresponsible to push a freshly built engine to the  power limit. There are roller dynamometers for that, but please only after 1000 km. At the earliest !

Price includes all adjustments and 2 oil fillings Agip 10-W60 and two oil filters. If you engine has to be dispatched, we are not allowed to fill engine with oil. In this case your final oil filling will be dispatched seperately
